Welcome to the Multi-Media Page

Movie Maker Project This 17 page, user friendly handout, gives a lot of screen shots and details that might be missed if you try and wing it making a presentation in Moviemaker. This handout has been revised and modified many times to be teacher and student friendly. This lesson is about problems of the world. This program can be used to create various presentations for any topic. The sky is the limit. Get a copy of the rubric for rating student work. An extensive handout is available with 5 videos to walk you through Movie Maker Basics on my CD. Check out the Movie Maker Handout.

Sample Videos Created Using Movie Maker

  • World Comparisons: This video shows contrasting worlds between those who have so much and those who have little or nothing.
  • World Problems: Students can create a video demonstrating what they perceive to be the major problems of our world.
  • Promoting Charities: This video demonstrates what students can create to promote a worthy cause.
PhotoStory: PhotoStory is a free download from Microsoft that allows users to create multimedia presentations. You can create a variety of multi media presentations for different topics. The handout for this lesson is about putting a presentation together on poems. It can be used to give a visual representation of historical events, biographies and more. The topics are endless for this free software. Check out my presentations on Youtube: Irena Sendler; Alabama Centennial; Death of an Innocent
Audacity: Audacity is a free sound editing program that allows you to create interesting sound effects. You can have your students write stories and then record them in Audacity. They can add background sound, sound effects and more. Students that are reluctant writers tend to be more interested in writing when they know they will be recording their voice. Click on the sound icon to get an example. This example is one voice being manipulated to sound like three different people.
