Welcome to the Google Resource
Page
After receiving my Google
Teacher Certification, I created several user friendly handouts
that could be used for a variety of classroom projects.
|
Google
Sites: This handout has simple detailed steps on how
to create sites using Google. It is a free and simple way
for teachers to make classroom websites for the classroom.
You can add attachments for easy downloads, create links to
important resources, add images to make it attractive and
embed instructional videos. Web Design Techniques are also
provided in this handout. |
Google
Template Sites: This user friendly handout will give in
depth tips on using Google Templates. It provides useful
design tips, html tips and much more. Resources are provided
to make your life easier. When you complete this assignment,
you will have the knowledge necessary to create sites from
scratch. You can see the site that was created after
customizing a
Google Template Site. This site could also be made
easily from scratch. This handout is different from the
Google Sites handout. It has different content and tips. I
learned a great deal when making this handout. |
Google
Maps: Get this easy to use handout that demonstrates
how to create map tours using Google Maps. Google Maps is
a great tool for any classroom. You can view maps in terrain
view, map view or satellite view. You can look up places of
business, historical locations and more. You can get directions
by car, walking or public transit. Step by step directions
in text or map format can be obtained where you wish to go.
You can turn on traffic reports to check for delays. You can
click on camera mode to get street views and pan around to
see what might be there. |
Google
Earth: This user friendly handout will guide the user
through steps that will teach them how to create Google Earth
tours that incorporate information, images and video. Google
Earth is a powerful and fantastic tool that can be used in
a variety of classes, regardless their content area. Google
Earth for education has a variety of resources to assist teachers
and students in the classroom. Check out the Outreach Homepage
and choose from a variety of tutorials. There is a showcase
of Google Earth's features with information and examples for
viewing. |
Google
Calendar: This user friendly handout will give you
simple steps on how to set up a Google Calendar. It would
be great to embed in your classroom site or help you to remember
important dates. You could create a calendar for parents and
students. You can even collaborate with others about events.
Google Calendar is a great way to stay organized and to share
important dates with other when necessary. You can set up
important dates and invite others to see and make comments.
Google Calendar allows you to send yourself a reminder about
important dates. If you are anything like me, I need reminders
with my busy schedule. |
Google
Docs: This user friendly handout gives great ideas
on how teachers can have students collaborate with their peers.
Google Docs allows you to make basic documents from scratch
or templates. You can also import documents that have already
been created. You can invite others to view or edit your documents,
allowing collaboration on projects. Some of the documents
could include a traditional document, spreadsheets or presentations.
Google Forms can make this process easier by setting up a
user friendly interface that allows users to answer questions
or fill in data fields that will end up as feedback in a spreadsheet. |
Google
Forms: This handout will walk you through the necessary
steps to create a Google Form. Google Forms allows you to
create a user friendly layout to get information from participants.
It is a survey format. When sent to people who participate,
their feedback will be organized in a consistent and friendly
layout. The date and time will also be provided once they
have participated in the survey. If you have an existing spreadsheet
you can easily create it into a form, which when sent to others
is much easier to add information. |
