Projects:
Students will get a list of all the projects they will be expected
to complete during their computer classes. Their projects will
involve the use of various Microsoft Office tools, Internet research,
image editing software, file management and much more. Most if
not all of the lessons involve the integration of academic content
and design. Many of the projects require creative writing. Students
will be constantly reminded to be critical of sites being evaluated
to avoid misrepresenting the truth. |
Student
websites: You will be able to view many of the presentations
that were created by students during their participation in the
computer class. You will be amazed at the creativity, thoughtfulness
and expertise of the students. Students will work in many of the
Microsoft Office Programs in order to further enhance their skills.
|
Student
hoaxes: You will be able to view creative images that were
transformed by students using Photoshop. The students learned
a great deal about Internet scams and hoaxes prior to this activity.
Students wrote fictitious stories to accomodate their masterpieces.
This is by far one of the funnest activities in computer class. |
Tribute
to American Veterans:
This link provides a demonstration to presentations students will
create based on the poem written by Pamela J. Carroll. Students
will find appropriate images to compliment each line of the poem.
They will add transitions, animations and music to make the presentation
more powerful. PowerPoint is necessary to view this presentation.
Music source for presentation: Enya. |
Workshops:
You will be able to get access to workshops being taught to staff
members. This link will provide staff with resources and lessons
that will assist them throughout the class. Staff members can
use this site to keep up their knowledge of computer related activities. |
Nuts
and Bolts: This class involves the nuts and bolts of computers.
Staff learn about various tools in Microsoft Word and Publisher.
They learn how to set up PowerPoint presentations incorporating
step up to writing. Check out the link to see how the staff websites
might look after setting up basic webpages using Microsoft FrontPage.
