Audacity Movie Maker iMovie WMP RealPlayer

Before starting, you will have to download Audacity for sound editing. If you are a Windows user and you don't have Movie Maker, you need to download that. If you are a Mac user and you don't have iMovie, you need to download that software. Window's Media Player and Real Player should be downloaded to guarantee you can listen to sound on those sites that support those players. Some of the downloads will require Adobe Reader, a free software that allows you to view PDFs.

  1. Create a folder somewhere safe on your computer and name it movie or something reasonable to help you locate it later.
  2. You will be given access to a variety of short, educational videos or sound online. Some teachers might choose to put videos and sound in a file stored in their public drive. Videos can be pre-selected and made available from sources such as United Streaming. The Resource page has several audio options. It is important to find a sound clip that is roughly two minutes. Finding images and short video clips to create something more than two minutes could be tedious and very time consuming.
  3. Once you have found the audio presentation that you want to visually compliment you can do one of the following:

    1. If the sound is downloadable from the site, you can right click on the sound icon and choose File | Save Target As. Open the folder you should have already created in step one and name the sound something practical.
    2. If it is a video, you need to look at the lesson that demonstrates how to feed music into Audacity.  Download Getting Music
