(SAN) This
site is brought to English speaking countries to keep them
informed about current topics and historical information that concern countries in
South America. We consult some of the best historians and social
scientists so that we can provide you with accurate and important information.
Vicente Yanez Pinzon, a well known social scientist from the
University of Talipados in southern Uruguay, has provided
information and other resources for the maintenance of this
site. Many schools use
this as a primary source for projects requiring research about South America.
The
image of the Squirrel monkeys was taken in the Amazon rainforest
by Terry Rosengart. The images on this site are brought to you
by generous and outstanding photographers from around the world. Most of our images are donated by students and professors
from various Colleges and Universities in South America. Other
images, such as the Squirrel monkeys, were from the
copyright-friendly site called Pics4Learning. Pics4Learning has
1000s of images donated by teachers, students and amateur
photographers. Teachers and students don't need to get
permission to use these photos if they are being used for
educational purposes.
Because we don't have advertising, we rely on generous donations
from education foundations such as the Brazilian Education
Foundation that provides funding for K-12 education and the
University of Sao Paolo, the largest state university in
Brazil. |
