Animals

Subawabbi has various animals and these are some of them. Subawabbi takes great pride in them and their strange features.
This is the dox, a very shy and layback kind of animal. They seem to be half fox and half duck. This particular picture is of Skurcy the dox. Dr. Sunwind first found him in a frozen pond in need of rescue. Sunwind put on his cowrus shoes and skated over to the helpless dox. Ever since he has been studying Skurcy and other dox to find out their habits and such. It is always very hard to find dox to study since they hardly come out and when they do they either fly away or get scared away by Palmtree Winters. The dox have the same habits as a fox but eat like a duck, swim, and fly. It is always a joy to watch this strange creature.
This is most favorable strange animal of Subawabbi, the wiger. The wiger was the first strange animal to be found on Subawabbi. On January 22 the Subawabbians found this wiger and were frightened the first time they saw him. Huge and aggressive looking, they had nets and weapons with them, ready to attack. Soon after capturing the enormous animal, they found out they didn't need any weapons for this wiger was friendly. They called a crew lead by Dr. Sunwind to take the wiger away to the capital city of Subawabbi, Kumotal, for further investigation. The crew named him Tristan and found out his habits, eating style, and much more. Tristan is very agile with an abundance of muscles and is half tiger, half wolf. His senses are abnormal, double any human's sense. His personality is like a playful dog, playing fetch and chasing his tail while tripping over his humongous paws. He and other wigers are fed meat from other countries, states, or dead animals. They mate when no one thinks they did and sometimes climb trees when they are least expected to. There is still a lot more to learn about these wigers.
This is the marchick, Subawabbi's youngest creature. Half chick, half marmot, it was very weird when they found her at birth. Unlike the other chicks, she was bigger and more faster. Jean McCardinal decided to take the marchick, which she named Lacey, to her home for an explanation. As weeks and months passed she found out the marchick never grew to be big or a chicken or however it was supposed to be, her being half marmot. Lacey stayed forever young and with the habits of a chicken than of a marmot. Everything Lacey did was normal for a chick to do. The only strange thing about her is her head and her age.
The polarfalcon, with the body of  falcon and a head of a polar bear, is a growing species in Subawabbi today. The polarfalcons roar like a polar bear and have the habits and abilities of a falcon. Trained to attack thieves and other suspicious people, these polarfalcons are very useful and dedicated to what they are trained to do. They also have time for fun and love to entertain visitors and tourists at the polarfalcon exhibit. Polarfalcons are very social animals and like to get petted and get treats. They take part in many shows by flying through hoops and such making the crowd go wild.
This picture of a skywot was taken from one of Jean McCardinal's catalogs. Skywots are red butterflies that fly gracefully, migrate in the summer, and perch themselves on trees, petals, gutters, and anywhere else they please. One of the strange abilities of these skywots is that when they flit around they release a beautiful fragrance. The fragrance gets carried in the wind, over waters, and over land. This ability is usually used when mating season comes. The females or males can decipher if the fragrance came from a male or female. For example, if a female was wondering throughout the trees during mating season she could find a fragrance and figure out that it is from a male and follow the path of the fragrance. Skywots have been around Subawabbi for centuries and have always been thought of as monarchs. After Jean McCardinal studied them closely she explained how these skywots are not monarchs and not ordinary butterflies. She created a poll around Subawabbi to determine what to name the species. A little Subawabbian girl's vote won. It was "skywot" which means "wonder".
This is the cowrus, a humongous yet magnificent beast of Subawabbi. Cowrus live on the coast of beaches and are very territorial. They can be friendly as long as they know that the visitors, tourists, or inhabitants know that the land is "theirs". With the soft look of a cow and the rough body of a walrus, these cowrusses have immediate authority over the smaller creatures of the water and sand such as crabs and dolphins. The abilities of the cowrus is like that of a walrus except for the bloody wars during mating season and of dominance since they don't have tusks. They eat whatever moss they can get off of rocks and stones. They also graze on grass that is close to their habitats. Many people hunt cowrusses illegally for their blubber and bones. These poachers almost always get caught and sent off to jail.
