Gaiana Island was recently
discovered in 1859 by South American explorer Fernandez Ricaraldo.
Since the island's discovery, Gaiana has become a popular travel
destination, seeing over 5 million people each year. The
special thing that sets Gaiana Island apart from the rest is that it
lies in the heart of the Bermuda Triangle. The strange
magnetic forces surrounding the Bermuda Triangle react to the unique
makeup of the island's core. This extraordinary geographical
combination causes the island to move two feet in any direction each
month. According to geological surveys, Gaiana island is now
fifty feet east, ten feet north, and believe it or not, twenty two
feet higher than it's original location. Although these
changes seem to be quite small, Gaiana Island is the only known
island in existence to move. Because the island changes
location so frequently, commercial airlines do not offer flights to
Gaiana Island. We do, however, charter flights on Bermuda
Airways. Flights leave weekly and go anywhere in the world.

Since Gaiana Island is close to
the equator, the climate stays relatively consistent. Gaiana's
seasons jump around because of the strange magnetic fields surrounding
the island. The busy season starts in June and continues until
mid-September. We see the most amount of tourists at this time
because the weather is most family-friendly; sunny, few clouds, and
a slight breeze. Surfers come during December and March
because of the suitable waves. The rainy season goes from
October to November and January to February. These unique
seasons create a diverse travel experience.
Currently, we have not found
any natives residing on Gaiana Island, but we have found signs of an
ancient civilization. When Fernandez Ricaraldo discovered
Gaiana Island, he found shards of pottery, exquisite jewelry, and
bits of highly decorated cloths. These artifacts suggest that
at one point in time a civilization existed on Gaiana Island.
The major discovery to support native people is the Discovery of
Tribuna. Sir Edmund Tribuna was researching the geological
anomalies around Gaiana Island when he discovered a cave filled not
only with artifacts, but with a complete skeleton of a native.
Carbon dating suggests that the remains date back to 500 A.D.
The complete skeleton can be viewed in our museum along with the
other artifacts.
Gaiana Island is a diverse
island nation, perfect for families, surfers, historians, and
scientists. We offer many accommodations and attractions for
people ranging from ages one to one hundred. The isolation and
uniqueness of Gaiana Island make it the perfect place to get away
from work and school. Please feel free to browse our site and
we hope to see you soon!
