Pear Deck allows all students the opportunity to be more engaged with classroom lessons. It is a fun way to get students more involved. Get videos!

Creating Websites: This presentation will allow students to brainstorm and get ideas about what kind of site they will create for computer design class.

Social Media: This presentation focuses on fake information online and to determine if you are being scammed.

6th Grade: Getting to know 6th graders on the first day. I usually dive right into class expectations and work on day 1 and decided to try something different.

6th-7th Grade Being Savvy Online: This presentation teaches students how to determine if videos are real or fake. They must take keywords from the video and do a Google Search to determine what is going on in the video. The sites they use must be credible, which isn't always easy to decipher. This is a fabulous lesson on digital citizenship.

6th Grade Safety Unit: This presentation has videos, quotes and questions about safety, bullying, and compassion. This is a digital citizenship lesson to help students be safer online.

6th-7th Grade Endangered Animal Poster Unit: This slide has a lot of resources for the Endangered Poster Unit.

8th Grade Digital Portfolios: This presentation introduces the Digital Portfolio Unit. It will help students understand why digital portfolios are important and help them think about possible projects to add to their portfolios.

8th Grade Time Lapse Videos: This presentation will help students learn how to use the software to make a time lapse video. They will look at examples and brainstorm what kind of videos they could create.

They must take keywords memes and do a Google Search to determine if the meme and information is real or fake. The sites they use must be credible, which isn't always easy to decipher.

8th Grade Photography: This slide presentation has 8 different photography techniques that students must learn before they do the Photography unit. They will be asked to determine what technique(s) are in the photos being shown.

8th Grade Film: Students will complete a series of Pear Decks to fully understand over 16 film techniques: Day 1; Day 2; Day 3; Day 4

8th Grade How-to-Videos: This slide show prepares students for the video production of a how-to-video on a topic they are comfortable teaching on the computer.

Student Feedback: This slide was created when many of my 8th graders struggled with one of my units. I wanted to get insight so I could be a better teacher on the unit. I was hoping that some might be more motivated after completing this unit. It did give me some insight.
